Gum Disease Screening

Periodontal disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in the United States. It can also contribute to other medical problems. We screen every patient for periodontal disease. Most cases can be treated in our office.

Treatment Options:

Non-Surgical Treatments (Early to Moderate Stage)

  • Scaling and Root Planning (Deep Cleaning): Removes tartar and bacteria from above and below the gum line and smooths root surfaces to allow gums to reattach.

  • Professional Dental Cleaning: Routine cleanings remove plaque, often reversing early gingivitis.

  • Antibiotics: Topical (gels, mouth rinses) or oral antibiotics (pills) reduce or eliminate bacteria causing infection.

  • Gingicaine- Used to help our patients with Gum pain during a procedure or dental cleaning

  • Improved Oral Hygiene: Daily brushing (2-3 times) and flossing are essential to stop progression. â€‹â€‹

Maintenance

  • Periodontal Maintenance: Frequent, deep cleaning visits (every 3–4 months) are required to prevent recurrence.
